Dr Peter Kirkpatrick is the owner of Bayswater Vet Clinic and has a passion for small animals, whether they are dogs, cats, birds, rabbits or guinea pigs.
Dr Peter has an exciting past, with one of his greatest achievements being named Young Australian of the Year in 2002 for WA and a Finalist in the National Young Australian of the Year award. Peter's research into the chytrid fungus that affects many of our native frogs was recognised across the country and in numerous research papers.
You'll also see Dr Peter's articles in the Gardening Australia magazine, answering all sorts of questions about animals great and small!
Dr Peter has been a Veterinary Surgeon for over a decade and has worked all over Australia with a variety of animals. Beginning his career at Mundaring Veterinary Hospital, Peter was then approached to work for the Australian Government in Melbourne, King Island and Tasmania for many years.
Peter's love for WA meant his return to the West Coast in 2006, where he moved to Geraldton and started his own successful mobile vet service before moving to Perth to be closer to his family. With many happy and loyal clients over his 6 years as a mobile vet in Geraldton, Peter still makes the effort to regularly drive up to visit his clients and treat their pets.
Peter's extra training in orthopaedics, major soft surgery surgeries and Stem Cell Therapy means he performs a lot of highly technical procedures in-house - a great service for our clients and patients!
Elise has taken on a new challenge with the management of Bayswater Vet Clinic, resigning from her previous position to help husband and owner of Bayswater Vet Clinic Dr Peter Kirkpatrick run his family owned clinic.
Working with Dr Peter on his mobile vet calls in Geraldton and Perth for many years, Elise's passion for animals lead her to a lifestyle and career change in early 2012 to work alongside Peter as Bayswater Vet Clinic's Practice Manager. Elise is passionate about making sure owners are informed about the health and well being of their pets.
You'll also see Elise running our very popular Puppy School (the best part of her day!)
In her previous career, Elise worked enthusiastically with State charity Anglicare WA as their Fundraising & Events Coordinator, managing and implementing many large corporate events, as well as community programs and events over the years. Her passion for meeting new people and relationship building means she thoroughly enjoys chatting to clients and giving lots of attention to their gorgeous pets!
Elise also created a wonderful wine app called Winery Explorer, a healpful tool in finding WA cellar doors and remembering your favourite wines!
In her spare time, Elise enjoys tutoring English, playing the piano and singing, as well as Ballroom and Latin dancing, tennis and hiking.
Megan is the bubbly, happy voice you will hear on the phone and meet out in reception when you come to Bayswater Vet Clinic (and the bubbliness is the same first thing in the morning and last thing at night!). Megan joined us in 2015 and has already fallen in love with a number of patients - she loves giving them extra special cuddles and attention when they come in.
You will also see Megan's friendly face at Puppy Pre-School, which she absolutely adores!
In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her dog Scotty, volunteering as a SABR and GAP foster carer for staffies and greyhounds, and socializing with friends.
Karina joined us as a Work Experience student in 2015 and has quickly progressed to Trainee Vet Nurse! Karina is studying her Certificate to become a qualified Vet Nurse and has already proven herself to be a wonderful help to owners and their pets.
Working at Shenton Park Dog Refuge has given Karina a lot of experience with all types of dogs and her love of caring for them led her to pursue her dream of becoming a Vet Nurse.
In her spare time, Karina study's for her course and looks after animals from the Refuge.
'Gypsy' is the Pomeranian x Pug fur kid of Peter and Elise, and also a regular visitor and 'Manager' of Bayswater Vet Clinic. 'Gypsy' thoroughly enjoys playing with her toys and LOVES chasing tennis balls. Her favourite past time is barking at things (and people) she believes should be giving her attention, and she loves meeting and greeting all the human and furry clients at Bayswater Vet Clinic.
She has learnt the hard way that she has to share her toys with hospitalised patients and puppies at puppy school!
